CURRENT

Signal-reactive power instability for digital audio.

CURRENT makes mixes breathe under electrical load by emulating rail sag, recovery, voltage instability, and shifting harmonic behavior in real time.

Electrical motion

The saturation breathes with the signal.

CURRENT’s harmonic response is not a fixed curve. Rail movement reacts to the incoming signal, creating a constantly shifting relationship between drive, recovery, bias, instability, and stereo rail behavior.

The core idea

Not a compressor. Not another saturation box.

When signal energy rises, CURRENT simulates voltage rail drop. When energy falls, the rails recover at a user-controlled rate. That movement changes headroom, bends harmonic behavior, and creates the sense that the audio is pushing against a living electrical system.

The result is subtle movement, density, and asymmetric character without forcing the track into obvious distortion.

Before / after

Hear the rails move.

Compare the dry signal against CURRENT reacting in real time as the virtual supply sags, recovers, and shifts harmonic behavior under load.

Controls

Designed for movement, tuned for restraint.

01

Drive

Stresses the virtual rails and sets how much sag the signal can pull from the supply.

02

Recovery

Controls how quickly voltage returns after the signal releases its load.

03

Bias

Shapes asymmetry so the harmonic response leans, pushes, and blooms with character.

04

Instability

Adds micro-drift modulation that keeps the behavior from feeling frozen or static.

05

Mix + Trim

Blend the system in parallel and compensate output level without breaking the feel.

06

Stereo Link

Choose shared rail behavior or independent channel movement for wider interaction.

Rail movement

A visual instrument for invisible voltage.

The central scope gives CURRENT its identity: signal energy, stereo behavior, and rail instability become visible as shifting trajectories instead of a static meter.

Who it is for

Analog behavior without analog clichés.

Mix engineers

Movement and density without flattening the performance.

Mastering engineers

Weight and cohesion while keeping openness intact.

Producers

Reactive tone shaping that feels alive under the track.

Sound designers
